Got comp for 5 nights. Walked up to first available agent, presented w $20 sandwich, asked for renovated room w fountain view, and got a room in Augusta tower. In terms of towers, Augusta is probably best, then Palace tower, then Octavius, and then Forum last. The room was very decent size, fairly well kept, and the fountain view was great. It was $20 well spent for 5 nights, no resort fees either!

Chris got a small upgrade with the $20 Trick right after Caesars Palace re-opened after the COVID-19 shutdown.

“I checked in last night at 10:45 pm. The registration agent was friendly after getting a camera to scan our body temperature. I told him I heard they weren’t taking cash anymore but had my ID, card, and $20 on the desk (non-sandwich), and he just said, ‘great,’ leave everything there so I can see it and verify without touching. Moments later, I had my choice of Palace Studio or the Augustus with the view. No added cost to me beyond the $20.”

Kyle shares a $40 Trick story from Caesars Palace that is super cool. While he didn’t get a free room upgrade, he did receive some great perks that made the $40 worth it.

“My room at Caesars Palace was already comped, but we arrived from New York City super early, and she waived early check-in and resort fees and minibar purchases. She was very nice and seemed to enjoy helping us save money.”

This goes to show that while the hotel may not upgrade your room, greasing the front desk staff’s palms with cash can go a long way.

Mike used the $20 Trick at Caesars Palace and got a pretty size-able upgrade, check it out:

“I had booked an Augustus Strip View Room, asked for nonsmoking, high floor, and strip view. I had $20 in my hand. I was given a couple of options and chose Augustus Petite Suite, a corner room about 100 square feet larger, but most of it is the entryway. It was the southwest corner on floor 10 or 11 but still had a pretty good fountain view. That was a Saturday check-in and platinum line.”
